Vigier beat the Polish Mateusz Rudyk (26) in two sets, the bronze medalist of the 2020 Worlds, whom he had already dominated at the same stadium in the recent European championships.

In the semifinals on Sunday, the Frenchman will be dealing with the big favorite, the Dutchman Harrie Lavreysen, Olympic champion and world title holder since 2019.

Lavreysen beat the other French representative, Rayan Helal, in the quarterfinals, who unsuccessfully tried to worry him in the first round.

Vigier (24) has already reached the last four of individual speed, the main event of the track.

In 2018 he won the bronze medal in the Worlds.

In Roubaix, the native rider of Essonne brought back the money in the team speed (with Florian Grengbo and Rayan Helal).

In the individual event, he signed the 4th fastest time in qualifying on Saturday morning, 17 hundredths behind Lavreysen.
