“Our message during the negotiations was always the same: the Republic of Moldova wants to continue negotiations and sign a long-term contract between Moldovagaz and Gazprom, beneficial for both parties,” Sputnik Moldova quoted him as saying.

At the same time, Spynu called the current offer of Gazprom unprofitable.

“The offer price, which includes financial and non-financial terms, including the payment of short-term historical debt, is higher than the offers on the international gas markets,” he added.

The minister said that Moldova cannot pay more for gas than "all other states in the region."

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilitsa said that the debt for gas should not be part of the negotiations on the contract with Gazprom.

On October 22, the Cabinet of Ministers of Moldova approved the introduction of a state of emergency in the country for a period of 30 days due to the energy crisis.
