50 experts participate in the "National Libraries Summit" in Sharjah

The summit discusses the challenges that professionals face in the process of creating book collections.

On the eighth and ninth of November, the Sharjah Book Authority will host the “National Libraries Summit” under the slogan “Presence..Interaction..Influence..and.Co.” in conjunction with the 40th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, as part of the authority’s efforts to advance the reality of knowledge sources.

The summit, in which 50 experts from 20 national libraries in Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East are participating, aims to allow the exchange of ideas and experiences and work to explore the challenges faced by national libraries, as it opens the door to attendance free of charge for all participants.

The summit will discuss the challenges that specialists face during the process of forming book collections and writing explanations and notes, and searching for practical methods to address these challenges and identifying new approaches to library management, in addition to enhancing opportunities for international communication and cooperation and analyzing the current situation in organizing the operations of national libraries.
