After being put to rest by her doctors, 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth II spent the night from Wednesday to Thursday in hospital to undergo examinations presented as "preliminary" by Buckingham Palace.

While she must celebrate her 70 years on the throne in 2022, the sovereign continues to display good form and her hospitalizations made public are extremely rare.

Big blow of fear in the United Kingdom.

Queen Elizabeth II spent the night from Wednesday to Thursday in the hospital.

More fear than harm, finally, since the sovereign returned to Windsor.

But the concern remains, especially as the palace does not communicate much on the state of health of His Majesty.

According to the palace statement, the queen was admitted to hospital for preliminary tests on Wednesday before returning to the castle at noon on Thursday.

"She keeps good morale," Buckingham said.

And no other indication of his health has been communicated yet.

This hospitalization follows the cancellation of an official visit by the sovereign to Northern Ireland on Wednesday.

On the advice of her doctors who recommended her to rest for a few days, according to the British press, which quotes sources close to the palace, the queen spent time in her office on Thursday, after returning from the hospital.

First seen with a cane in public

The sovereign holds the record for longevity on the British throne, which she acceded almost 70 years ago, in 1952. Besides her rare previous hospitalizations, she is not known to have any health problems except for her had to miss a visit in January 2020 due to a mild cold.

Queen Elizabeth was last seen in public on Tuesday evening, at an official reception at Windsor Castle.

She then appeared there in good shape.

Still, at 95 years old, the news of this hospitalization is necessarily a little worrying.

Especially since ten days ago, we saw the queen move for the first time with a cane in public.
