On October 20, local time, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated at the third meeting of the Moscow Model Consultation on Afghanistan in Moscow that the establishment of an inclusive government involving all political forces in Afghanistan is the only way to achieve domestic stability in Afghanistan.

Lavrov said that Russia has noticed the efforts made by the Afghan Interim Government to stabilize the domestic situation.

He also pointed out that the situation in Afghanistan is currently unstable, and terrorist organizations including Al-Qaida and the Islamic State are preparing to use this to continue to create bloody conflicts and violent terrorist attacks in Afghanistan.

He called on the Afghan Taliban to fulfill their commitments and prevent anyone from using the Afghan territory to harm the interests of third countries.

Lavrov said that the international community should provide humanitarian and economic assistance to Afghanistan, and the United Nations should play a central coordinating role in this regard.

Western countries need to take a responsible attitude in dealing with the issue of Afghan refugees, because it is the long-term presence of Western forces in Afghanistan that has created the grim situation in the country.

The third meeting of the Moscow Model Consultation on Afghanistan was held in Moscow on the 20th. Representatives from 10 regional countries attended the meeting. The Afghan delegation was led by Abdul Salam Hanafi, Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Interim Government of Afghanistan.
