RIA Novosti: the death toll in an emergency in a workshop near Ryazan has reached 17

As the agency notes, search and rescue services at the scene have been completed.

“As of 16.30 Moscow time, the explosion killed 17 people,” the agency was told.

It was previously known about 16 dead.

A resident of the village of Lesnoy told RT that all those killed in the explosion at a plant in the Ryazan region had children.

As the acting head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Chupriyan noted, an explosion took place in the gunpowder shop at a plant in the Ryazan region.

In the Ryazan region, October 25 is declared a day of mourning.
