French Prime Minister Jean Castex announced on October 21 that citizens of the country, whose salary is less than 2 thousand euros per month, will be paid a one-time compensation in the amount of 100 euros for the increase in electricity prices.
“I think this is more fair and purposeful,” RIA Novosti quoted Macron as commenting on the French government’s measures at a press conference in Brussels.
According to him, it is better to have a more targeted instrument to support the purchasing power of citizens.
Earlier, the French government decided to freeze gas prices until the end of 2022.
