Expo 2020 Dubai: The World Council for Future Generations discusses the challenges of the space sector

The World Council for Future Generations held a panel discussion that focused on answering a major question, which is what if we were given the opportunity in the future to live on a planet other than Earth, with the aim of developing solutions to the current and future challenges facing our planet.

A select group of school students in the UAE, representing the future generation, participated in the panel discussion, which comes as part of the activities of the Space Week at Expo 2020; The discussion focused on ways that could ensure the sustainability of the planet we live on and improve the quality of life on it, both healthily and environmentally, through a vision that imposes an opportunity for humans to live on another planet and start from scratch.

The participants put forward some solutions and rules that could make us more in harmony with the new environment, which focused mainly on the need to change traditional intellectual patterns in dealing with nature and the environment on the planet, so that protecting the planet becomes the responsibility of every individual in society, leading to the achievement of collective responsibility in Building a better tomorrow for humanity.

The participants emphasized that collective change necessarily begins with the individual, given that the individual is the main component of society.

The participants discussed the challenges related to the space sector, including the environmental impact, as they stressed the need to take advantage of modern technologies to develop innovative solutions that reduce this impact, including increasing reliance on solar energy, for example, in the areas of space exploration.

The Global Council for Future Generations includes a series of discussion sessions related to the Global Council program, which aims to engage the young generation in discussing many topics and challenges related to the future of humanity, including discussions held within the framework of the ten thematic weeks, organized by Expo 2020 Dubai over a period of time. His stay, which extends until March 31, 2022, is part of the Man and Planet Earth programme.
