22 October 2021 Prime Minister Mario Draghi met on a bilateral basis in Brussels with French President Emmanuel Macron, before the start of the second day of the European Council.

This was reported by diplomatic sources in Brussels.



Macron also met with the new Austrian Chancellor Alexander Shallenberg.



The leaders of the Twenty-Seven are discussing immigration and the digital transition.

During yesterday's discussion on the surge in energy prices, Macron pushed heavily in favor of investments in nuclear power, with the support, according to French sources, of the majority of the other Member States.
