On October 19, Nanjing Massacre survivor Ma Xiuying died at the age of 99; on September 20, Nanjing Massacre survivor Fu Zhaozeng died at the age of 85; September 19, Nanjing Massacre survivor Huang Liu died at the age of 96 years old...In about a month, three more survivors passed away.
On the first floor of the historical materials exhibition hall of the memorial hall, there is a whole wall full of survivor photos.
After the photo of each living survivor, there is a light that illuminates, and when the survivor passes away, the light will go out.

In August 2019, based on the testimony of rescued survivors, the memorial started the investigation and collection of information on the descendants of survivors.
Up to now, a total of 761 survivor offspring information registration forms and genealogy of survivor offspring from 82 survivor families have been collected, and a database has been established.
