The latest GPS position from the dawn pyroman's foot buoy is from the vicinity of the open-air area Oset in Örebro at 9 pm on Monday evening.

The contact with the foot shackle was broken at 02.30 during the night towards Tuesday.

The Prison and Probation Service then requested help from the police to search for the man.

- We can confirm that there is a request for assistance to the police in Örebro about the person in question.

We can not comment on how we work, says Diana Qudhaib, spokesperson for the police.

Would "execute 12 randomly selected"

The dawn pyromaniac has served his latest prison sentence for setting a fire at the social administration's office in Köping in December 2017. He has been conditionally released since last spring and is being monitored with a foot shackle.

After the man was released, he has lived in Örebro.

In September, Gryningspyromanen was arrested on suspicion of making a serious threat to an official.

In one that he sent a letter to a police chief in Örebro, it is stated, among other things, that he "studied and systematically executed 12 randomly selected people".

The preliminary investigation was later dropped and according to the police, the man does not pose a danger to the public.

- Citizens can feel secure that we work with this, says Diana Qudhaib.

Convicted of several fires in Ystad

The man has been called the dawn pyromaniac since the early 2000s, when he was suspected of a number of arson during the morning hours, especially in Skåne.

He has only been convicted of a fraction of the fires he is suspected of.

In 2011, he was sentenced to eight years in prison for aggravated arson against an apartment building in Ystad.
