Car wheel thefts have increased since September in Rouen (Seine-Maritime) and its surroundings.
The criminals operate mainly at night, have shown the reports made by the owners of the vehicles to the police and on social networks.

The police, however, have assured that they have not seen a recent rise in the phenomenon.
They had, however, launched an investigation after a similar series of wheel thefts last spring in the Rouen metropolitan area.

Stolen wheels and broken windows
In addition to the wheels, the criminals also stole the personal effects present in the vehicles.

A Clio was thus stripped of its wheels in Petit-Couronne (Seine-Maritime) on October 15, just like another car of the same model in Rouen the following weekend.
The victims among other things pointed to defects in public lighting.
