The reason why the fee is now increased is that when the electricity is transported, transmission losses occur.

This has led to Svenska kraftnät, which manages the main grid, raising its fee, which now leads to Öresundskraft raising the fee for customers.

- Our large corporate customers get a big impact from what happens, says Dan Lilja.

The increase is mainly due to losses in the transmission from the main grid to the regional grid and finally to the local electricity grid.

Those who consume the most electricity will also notice the largest increase.

In the clip above, you will hear how much the fee can be increased for you.

Lack of power in southern Sweden

Dan Lilja believes that there is really no energy shortage, ie all electricity produced versus all electricity consumed at all hours of the day.

Instead, it is a lack of power, meaning that there is too little electricity during the hours when it is consumed the most.

- We need to secure the critical hours, he says.

The bottlenecks that apply to southern Sweden are mainly about the fact that more electricity needs to be produced in the region and that the existing transmission of electricity from north to south needs to be expanded.

- There are several large investments that need to be made in production capacity and transmission capacity, says Dan Lilja.
