The body of a 66-year-old man was discovered on Monday in his apartment in Avenières-Veyrins-Thuellin, in Isère.

Death dates back several months, reports

.

However, no neighbor of the residence was concerned about the fate of the sixty-year-old during all this time.

Suffering from a heart disease, the man arrived from Vietnam several years ago to receive treatment in France.

Died on his return from hospital

Used to frequently leaving his home, his behavior suddenly changed with the arrival of the coronavirus epidemic and the first confinement.

He hardly put his nose outside.

Intrigued not to have seen him for a long time, a neighbor came to inquire about the sexagenarian.

The door to the apartment was closed but a foul odor escaped from it.

The gendarmes and firefighters were immediately alerted.

Upon entering the accommodation, rescuers discovered the victim's body at the foot of his bed.

According to the first elements, it would be a natural death.

Funerals organized by the municipality

Thanks to the letters piled up in the letterbox, investigators estimate that the man has been dead for about nine months.

"He was hospitalized at the beginning of the year but no one seems to have been warned of his return," said Myriam Boiteux, mayor of the town.

It is also the city that will take care of organizing his funeral, the sixty-year-old having no known family in France or Vietnam.
