Former US President Donald Trump announced the creation of his own social network, which was called Truth Social (from the English truth - truth, truth).

This is stated in a press release by a member of the US Republican Party, which was published by his press secretary Liz Harrington.

As follows from the document, the development will be carried out by the Trump Media & Technology Group, which has completed the process of merging with the Digital World Acquisition Group, which will allow it to become a public company, that is, its shares will be listed on the NASDAQ electronic exchange.

"The mission of TMGT is to create a rival to the liberal media consortium and to fight back the Silicon Valley tech companies that have used their monopoly power to silence America's opposition voices," the statement said.

According to The Hill portal, referring to MarketWatch data, Digital World Acquisition Group was founded on December 11, 2020 and did not have a business plan.

The purpose of creation is acquisition by or merger with another company.

Along with this, TMTG announced the launch of its own video platform TMTG +.

According to Donald Trump, the main goal of the TMTG media group is to provide a voice for everyone.

“I created Truth Social and TMGT to fight back the tyranny of tech giants.

We live in a world where the Taliban * have a strong Twitter presence and your beloved American president has been silenced.

This is unacceptable, "Trump said.

It is noted that the launch of the new social network will take place soon.

Truth Social is already available for pre-order from the App Store.

Closed beta testing of the social network will begin in November, and a full launch in the United States is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

As the description on the Truth Social app page suggests, the new network adheres to the “big tent” principle, which encourages open, free and honest global conversation without discrimination on political ideology.

“The Big Tent Principle is a new way of referring to“ inclusiveness ”in America.

Imagine a huge outdoor tent at your best friend's wedding.

Who will be there?

Many families from all over the United States and around the world.

Uncle Jim from Atlanta is a proud libertarian.

Aunt Kelly from Texas is a staunch conservative.

Your cousin John from California is a committed liberal.

And you know what?

They all came together to have a great time and share their views on the world.

Although we do not always agree with each other, we welcome different opinions and discussion, ”the description says.

The authors of the application encourage their users to express and share their opinions and materials: photos, news, links to videos.

The platform will also allow you to keep abreast of the latest news and stay in direct contact with other users.

"Stay up to date with the latest news by staying in direct contact with the people who influence you - don't be surprised if your TRUTH goes viral!"

- explained in the message.

Recall that in January - a couple of weeks before the inauguration of Joe Biden - Donald Trump's accounts were blocked on the largest social networks: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube video hosting.

This happened after the events of January 6, when a large-scale rally of supporters of the 45th President of the United States took place in Washington.

The action was timed to coincide with a congressional meeting dedicated to the approval of the results of the 2020 presidential election, which was won by Joe Biden.

The rally escalated into riots, and protesters broke into the Capitol building.

The incident killed five people.

In May, Donald Trump called it a shame for the country to keep blocking his social media accounts.

According to him, IT giants "must pay a political price" and "they should never again be allowed to disrupt" the electoral process.

In July, the former head of the White House filed lawsuits against Facebook, Google and Twitter, as well as against their directors Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai and Jack Dorsey.

In the same month, former members of the Trump team launched their own social network Gettr, which is similar to Twitter.

The creator was the former representative of the American leader Jason Miller, the position of the consultant was taken by Tim Murto, the press secretary of Trump's presidential campaign in 2020.

In addition, in January, the App Store and Google Play Store removed the ability to download the Parler social network application, which was popular among GOP supporters, due to "insufficient moderation."

The Russian company DDoS-Guard helped to partially restore the work of the social network - its office was visited by the RT film crew in February.

* "Taliban" - the organization was recognized as terrorist by the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation of February 14, 2003.
