After the preschool made a report of concern in February this year, it turned out that the adoptive parents regretted the adoption, traveled to the girl's country of origin and left her in an orphanage.
Believes that one can not cancel adoption
Since then, the municipality has tried to bring home the girl, who is a Swedish citizen.
Among other things, there is a decision on emergency care for her according to the law on care of young people.
However, the authorities in the girl's country of origin consider that the girl is a citizen there and have therefore terminated the adoption.
The municipality of Tranås has now hired a representative in the girl's country of origin, who is working on an application to the court in the country.
- We do not believe that you can cancel an adoption in this way, says Angelica Freeman, section manager for individual and family care at the municipality, to Dagens Nyheter.
