The police describe the events in Malung-Sälen municipality that began at lunchtime on Wednesday, when a man in his 25s stole a dog from a dog boarding house.
When an acquaintance would then give him a ride, he drew a knife and also stole the car.
The police stopped the 25-year-old in the car at three o'clock in the afternoon and were able to arrest him.
Later in the evening, the man was arrested, and is now suspected of theft, aggravated unlawful coercion, aggravated use of means of subsistence, illegal driving and minor drug offenses.
No people were injured during the course of events, reports Diana Qudhaib, press spokesperson for the police region Bergslagen.
