The Valencia prosecutor's office announced on Wednesday that it had requested the immediate appearance and pre-trial detention of a father who had threatened college staff with death after his son received a warning for shouting "Allah Akbar" during homage to Samuel Paty.

The man, who exercises the profession of security guard, does not suffer from "any psychiatric pathology or personality disorders despite an impulsive potential", specifies the prosecution of Valence in a press release, thus relying on the conclusions psychiatric expertise.

Consequently, "his discernment being neither abolished nor altered at the time of the facts, he is totally responsible for his actions", estimates the prosecution.

Placed in police custody Monday, the 43-year-old man "did not dispute all of the facts, including that he verbally attacked educational staff and that he was going to set fire to the establishment, but minimized them by evoking his anger at the situation ”.

Neither file S nor known to radicalization monitoring services

Not known "to the services in charge of monitoring radicalization or registered as such", he explained "to have lost his temper in the face of the sanction taken against his son".

The latter, aged 11 and in 5th grade, shouted “Allah Akbar” on Friday during the minute of silence organized in the establishment in tribute to Samuel Paty.

He had "been led to reflect on his behavior" and "himself offered to apologize to his teacher and his comrades," said the rectorate of the Grenoble academy on Tuesday.

The teenager was however sentenced to a warning and his father had been warned by telephone.

During the interview, he had "congratulated the behavior of his son," then insulted and threatened the management of the college for the first time, according to the prosecution.

Combat weapons and Salafist books

Monday morning, the man had entered the establishment and reiterated his words "even more sharply, going so far as to pronounce death threats", according to the rectorate.

During a search at his home, investigators discovered "a bible, two Salafist books, a nunchaku, a saber, a cane-sword as well as the sum of 11,500 euros", according to the prosecution, which did not retain the leader of the defense of terrorism, "in the absence of the public nature of the remarks made".

On the other hand, he retained the heads of "death threats on persons entrusted with a public service mission and attacks on public property".
