  The activity of "Taiwan University Students' Free Clinics in the Villages in Hubei Universities" was jointly organized by the Taiwan Affairs Office of Hubei Province and Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

  At the free clinic, a team of 14 experts and residents from 8 specialties of Tongji Hospital conducted consultations, preliminary screening and diagnosis of common diseases and chronic diseases for local villagers.

Experts give timely treatment recommendations for the diseases screened out, and conduct health science popularization.

Some Taiwanese students assist doctors in free consultations, some measure blood pressure and blood sugar for the villagers, and others are responsible for distributing medical kits and health knowledge handbooks.

  Li Yutong, a Taiwanese student majoring in clinical medicine, said that for the first time in the village with the free clinic, he was very impressed with the professional level and sense of responsibility of the experts and deepened his yearning for the profession of doctors.

  In this free clinic, more than 300 villagers were received and donated medicines and medical kits worth about 2,000 yuan to the local area.

Taiwanese students also visited local Chinese medicine companies and learned about traditional Chinese medicine culture.

  Zhu Wenzhen, deputy dean of Tongji Hospital, hopes that this free clinic will enable Taiwanese students to feel the Tongji spirit of "going for help with one heart and striving for perfection", determined to become talents, and take care of illnesses and save people and health assistance as their own responsibility.
