Manche, Finistère and Morbihan were placed in orange vigilance for strong winds on Wednesday.

Météo France predicts that this meteorological phenomenon will begin this afternoon around 3:00 p.m. until Thursday morning.

In the English Channel, wind gusts can reach 130 km / h at the end of the day.

Three departments were placed in orange vigilance Wednesday by Météo France for strong wind.

These are Manche, Finistère and Morbihan.

According to the meteorological institute these windy episodes should occur from 3:00 p.m. Wednesday until Thursday morning. 

Wind gusts up to 130km / h

Météo France explains in its bulletin that these phenomena occur in a situation of "low pressure deepening in formation on the near Atlantic in a rapid flow from West-South-West."

This episode will first affect the Atlantic coast before spreading in the interior of the northern half of the country.

Gusts of up to 100 or 110km / h are expected in Finistère and Morbihan, sometimes going up to 120km / h.

In the Channel, they can reach 130km / h locally.
