A private jet plane crashed and burned in the United States, but all 21 people on board miraculously managed to escape safely.

According to foreign media such as Reuters on the 19th (local time), a 'McDonnell Douglas (MD)-87' plane crashed into a fence outside the runway during takeoff at an airport near Houston, Texas, USA.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the plane crashed into a fence after failing to gain altitude at the end of the runway, soared up to 500 feet (152.4 meters) and crashed into a field north of the airport.

Witnesses said the plane stopped after it crossed the field.

There were 18 passengers and 3 crew members on the plane, which almost led to a disaster, but they escaped safely just before the plane was engulfed in red flames.

A 10-year-old child was among the passengers who were fortunate enough to survive, CNN reported.

The Wheeler County Sheriff's Office said two people were injured in the plane crash but were not life-threatening.

The plane burned to ashes after the passengers were evacuated, leaving only the tail of the aircraft.

The plane is owned by a Houston-based homebuilder and passengers are said to have been on board to watch Game 4 of the MLB American League Championship Series in Boston.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FAA are planning to investigate the cause of the plane crash.
