  Lavrov pointed out that Russia proposed to NATO two years ago to reach an agreement on the withdrawal of the exercise from the line of contact, and an agreement on the minimum distance that any aircraft and warship should not violate.

  Lavrov emphasized: “Many other suggestions were made at the time, but everything fell to nothing. I heard the German Foreign Minister say today that Russia’s adoption of this measure shows that Russia is not ready to negotiate. I just said that we had We are ready for negotiations and NATO is simply ignoring us. This situation has continued for more than a year."

  Lavrov also said that Moscow expects NATO to take the lead in taking measures to improve bilateral relations.

He said: "Because no matter whether it is with NATO, with the European Union, with which western country or which region of the world, the deterioration of relations has never started with us."

  Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov announced on the 18th Russia’s response to the deportation of NATO diplomats: In addition to suspending the work of NATO’s military liaison mission in Moscow, the work of its Information Bureau has also been terminated.

The Permanent Mission of Russia to NATO will also suspend its work from November 1 or later.
