A few days after honoring the memory of Samuel Paty, assassinated in October 2020, and in a tense context, a teacher was assaulted on Tuesday in a high school in Roubaix, in the North.

In the process, his colleagues exercised their right of withdrawal.

The incident took place at Lycée Jean-Moulin during the morning.

A teacher was in class when a student from outside the classroom entered the room.

The student got angry when the teacher asked him for his correspondence book, insulting and pushing her before leaving.

Right of withdrawal and complaint

When the teacher's colleagues learned the facts, they spontaneously decided to stop classes, at least for the day, in agreement with the school administration.

According to the rectorate, the school was to reopen this Wednesday.

A complaint will be filed by the teacher and by the principal of the school.

“The Lille Academy reaffirms its solidarity with all its teachers.

No threat or aggression, physical or verbal, against them can be tolerated ”, declared the rector, Valérie Cabuil, in a press release.

The student was the subject of a "protective disciplinary measure" while waiting for his behavior to be studied by the disciplinary council.
