The North Korean Workers' Party of Korea's Rodong Sinmun newspaper, dated 20th, reported that the Academy of National Defense Science conducted a launch test of a new SLBM = submarine-launched ballistic missile on the 19th.
North Korea has launched SLBM since October 2019, when it launched "Pole Star Type 3" off the coast of Wonsan in the east.
On the paper, there are 5 photos including the missile ascending to the sea while blowing out flames and the appearance of the submarine that has surfaced to the sea.
It is not clear whether General Secretary Kim Jong Eun witnessed the launch.
According to the South Korean Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff, North Korea launched a ballistic missile, presumed to be SLBM, from the eastern offshore of Hamgyong South Hamgyong (Sinpo) to the Sea of Japan on the morning of the 19th. The announcement on the 20th is expected to refer to this missile.
