Falkenberg municipality

Decided in October 2020 to limit the right to adjustment support for outgoing politicians.

No one receives compensation automatically, but the municipality's fee committee has the right to make "individual decisions required and positions" which, among other things, crime can be a basis.

- We were quite quick with this proposal after what emerged in Kungsbacka.

We have the opportunity to make exceptions and choose not to pay severance pay, says Per Svensson (S), chairman of the municipal board.

Laholm municipality

A proposal is on the way up in the City Council that a elected politician who is convicted of a crime that gives two years in prison is not entitled to financial adjustment support after his political career.

A unanimous municipal board has voted in favor of the proposal.

Halmstad Municipality

There is no decision and currently no proposal to limit the compensation of outgoing politicians convicted of crimes.

- But we are looking together in Halland over changes in the rules for remuneration to politicians who have completed their assignments.

Part of this work concerns politicians who are convicted of crimes, says the municipal board chairman Jonas Bergman (M) who believes that it will be a similar proposal as in Laholm before the next term.

Hylte municipality

The issue is being discussed, but there is currently no final proposal or decision.

Varberg municipality

There is no proposal or decision to change the rules.

- We have an assignment to review this but nothing finished at the moment.

The Personnel Committee works and reviews the regulations for the future.

We can not change the terms retroactively, says Ann-Charlotte Stenkil (M), chair of the municipal board.

Kungsbacka municipality

Here, several parties have wanted to introduce stricter rules for politicians' adjustment support after the scandal where the top politician Hans Forsberg resigned after being revealed with sex purchases and still received maximum adjustment support.

But at present there are no decisions on changed rules.
