19 October 2021 The no Green pass protest continues in Trieste. Last night part of the demonstrators present in piazza Unità moved to the old port to continue the garrison, in agreement with the authorities. Others, on the other hand, have spent the night in the square where in these hours there are about two hundred. The situation is calm with policemen who guard the Prefecture and carabinieri who watch over the building of the Region. Some demonstrators who slept on the ground brought sleeping bags and camping chairs. This morning they chanted the slogan "Bread, work, freedom" several times.

A small group is still near Gate 4 but the police do not allow them to approach the port area. There are numerous men and police and carabinieri vehicles that stop in the surrounding area. The road of the Elysian Fields that leads to the access to the Port is partially blocked for transit. The operation of the Port continues to be guaranteed through Gate 1 which is regularly open and also manned by the police.

The Minister of Agricultural Policies, Stefano Patuanelli, who is expected to meet a delegation of demonstrators, is expected to be in Trieste on Saturday. The goal, as repeated several times, is to ask the government to abolish the Green pass. In the meantime, the square announced, protest will continue.

'' In these days we will organize a march because the protest does not stop and we will continue to monitor the situation - they say from the coordination of the no green pass protest, led by the port Stefano Puzzer - Together until the abrogation of these discriminatory and liberticidal laws '' .

Yesterday afternoon a group of demonstrators had tried to continue the garrison in front of gate 4 of the Port, cleared in the morning by the police even with the use of fire hydrants. Clashes with the police followed until the evening, while most of the demonstrators - over five thousand people, according to the organizers - were gathered in a peaceful sit in Piazza Unità d'Italia with Puzzer, the new leader of the movement. no green pass which invited all Italians who oppose green certification to go to Trieste and make their voices heard.

Thus, while the election of the mayor, Roberto Dipiazza, was being celebrated in the center, echoes of sirens rang out in various parts of the city. Journalists were also targeted with insults during the live coverage of Rainews24 and the local broadcaster Tele4.

Meanwhile, the strike also continues. "We attach the screen shot from the site of the Guarantee Commission on strikes from which it can clearly be seen that the general strikes called by Fisi (Italian Federation of Intercategorical Trade Unions) and Confsafi (Autonomous Confederation of Italian Trade Unions), to which the writer has joined, are still valid, never revoked ", writes in a statement, published on Facebook together with the screen shot, the Trieste Port Workers Coordination (CLPT) about the protest against the obligation of the green pass for access to work started last Friday at Gate IV of the port of Trieste is still in progress. The Clpt refers to the fact that "in various companies executives and business managers of various levels have spread among the workers,in order to dissuade them from striking, the 'news' that the strike called by various trade unions at the national level from 15 to 20/10/2021 would be 'illegitimate' ".
