On the set of "Punchline", Tuesday evening, Eric Ciotti detailed the measures of his economic program, in the event of accession to the Elysee.

While Valérie Pécresse put forward the figure of 150,000 fewer public official positions, the deputy for Alpes-Maritimes wants to remove 100,000 more, excluding police, gendarmerie, justice and national defense.

INTERVIEW

On the right, the candidates put forward their proposal for reducing public spending.

If Valérie Pécresse announced on Monday that she wanted to cut 150,000 public official positions in the event of a successful candidacy for the Elysee, her rival Eric Ciotti aims to reduce the number of public officials by 250,000.

"We have a million more public officials than in Germany and I do not have the impression that their service is lacking," he said.

"The more civil servants we have, the less we have a public service that meets the expectations of the French."
