Following a committee decision, the collection of electric scooters in Linköping has begun since 27 September.

Since then, 15 such have been found and taken care of by the municipality.

- It has gone well in fact, we are starting softly a bit because it is a new area to work with, says Jakob Olingdal, traffic engineer at Linköping municipality.

In the clip, municipal councilor Muharrem Demirok (C) talks about the plans for further measures against the electric bicycle problem.

Rounds the city

The basic fee for the owners to pick them up is SEK 1,500 per electric scooter, but can vary depending on how long you have waited with the pick-up.

The logistics surrounding the collection of electric bicycles may seem a bit cumbersome.

Johan is a parking attendant and together with his colleague Rickard they pick up incorrectly parked electric scooters, bicycles and other vehicles.

- We patrol and when we find one we start a case, Johan explains.
