According to the European Commission, 43 states are currently connected to the system, including 27 EU member states, three states belonging to the European Economic Area, Switzerland and 12 other countries and territories of the world.

Another 60 third countries have applied to the Commission, wishing to join the system of mutual recognition of certificates.

"In addition to those third countries that are already connected ... technical discussions are underway with 28 more states," added the European Commission.

It is noted that in total, about 600 million certificates have already been issued.

Last week, the European Commission and Russia held a technical meeting to clarify the procedure for mutual recognition of certificates of vaccination against coronavirus.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the EU is biased towards the recognition of Russian vaccines against COVID-19.

The head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that the World Health Organization has no complaints about the Sputnik V drug.
