The tree that hides the forest.

For this northerner motorist, it is rather the speeding which hides other offenses.

The northern gendarmes thus intercepted a man who should never have been behind a wheel.

On Friday, the soldiers of the motorized brigade of La Bassée carried out speed checks on the RN41, at the level of the town of Fournes-en-Weppes.

Around 9:30 am, the gendarmes launched the interception of a vehicle traveling in the direction of Lens and whose speed recorded on the radar was 140 km / h instead of the authorized 90 km / h.

Speed, drugs, alcohol and lack of license

At the wheel of the small city car, officials discovered a 25-year-old young man.

The checks confirmed that the latter was under the influence of an alcoholic state and that he had consumed narcotics.

It also quickly became apparent that the motorist's license had been canceled following similar offenses.

The young man was arrested and will soon have to respond to the facts alleged against him in court.

His vehicle was impounded pending a court decision.
