The two surgeries were performed to remove healthy kidneys from living donors, and each operation lasted about three hours, using the latest "Da Vinci" surgical systems that rely on small robotic arms that mimic the dexterity of a natural surgeon's hand.

In his comment, His Excellency Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, stressed that what was done is an important achievement added to the balance of the UAE's achievements and the successes achieved by Dubai in the health sector, which is witnessing a remarkable development at the level of its policies, protocols and medical care systems in its various specialties.

The surgery was performed on two patients residing in Dubai, one of whom is 42 years old, and before the operation he was undergoing dialysis due to advanced renal failure, and he received the kidney from his younger brother who also lives in Dubai, and the other patient is 32 years old, and he received the kidney from the son of His uncle who came to Dubai to donate his kidney.
