In many places, there is a conflict between municipalities and their inhabitants and the government's plans for expansions of wind power.

Between 2014-2020, more than one in five planned wind turbines did not materialize, which made the goal of having a completely renewable electricity production in Sweden 2040 more difficult.

Last year, an inquiry was appointed to make the establishment of wind turbines, according to the government, more predictable and more efficient than today.

- What the government wants is to abolish the municipalities' right to say no, and we will never accept that.

If you look at the inquiry's proposal, you want to remove the municipal veto and introduce a so-called location notice, which means that it will be difficult to back away from a decision if the municipalities in an overview plan said that it would be possible to build a wind farm on a certain place, says Arman Tejmouri.

"All parties shall have the right to appeal"

Lorentz Tovatt does not agree.

- I do not know if Arman has read the investigation.

It is very clear that the local influence will remain, says Lorentz Tovatt, who wants more people to have the opportunity to appeal a decision in the future.

- Today, a private person may not appeal if a wind farm is planned nearby, we think it is unreasonable.

All parties should have the right to appeal, even traders when municipalities say no on arbitrary grounds, says Lorentz Tovatt.

Arman Tejmouri believes that the government's investigation may have the opposite effect and lead to increased opposition to wind turbines in the end.

- You can choose to do a selective reading.

The location announcement means that the municipality's right to say no comes early in the process, says Arman Tejmouri.
