Last year, the politicians in the ruling majority wrote a letter of protest to the Stockholm County Administrative Board.

It had then been informed that the municipality would, for the first time in many years, have refugees directed here by the county administrative board.

That is, in addition to the refugees who voluntarily choose to settle in Södertälje.

"We are fighting"

Now a proposal has been made for the number of refugees that the county administrative board will direct to Södertälje next year.

It's about 32 people.

The chairman of the municipal board is not satisfied.

- We are waging a rather difficult fight against segregation here in Södertälje and then perhaps these refugees can be received by other municipalities that do not have the same history as us, says the chairman of the municipal board Boel Godner (S).

The County Administrative Board writes to SVT that they see that with the new Settlement Act from 2016, there will be a more even reception between the county's municipalities.
