Whoever wrote these four characters here, who has been here to keep watch over them for ninety years.
[Explanation] On October 16, the "Nine-state Huatang City Light"-the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Guangzhou Zhongshan Memorial Hall was held at the Zhongshan Memorial Hall.
More than 800 people including Sun Yali, grand-nephew of Sun Yat-sen, founder of Sun Yat-sen Cultural Foundation, Li Jishen's grandson Li Wei, descendants of Tongmenghui members and people from all walks of life participated in the event.
[Explanation] This year marks the 155th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s birth and the 110th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911.
Sun Yali, great-nephew and granddaughter of Sun Yat-sen, expressed in her speech that she hopes that young people will learn from Sun Yat-sen's spirit of "indomitable, harder and harder" and inherit the revolutionary tradition.
The sons and daughters of Greater China all over the world unite to contribute to national rejuvenation.

We should rethink the contemporary significance of Sun Yat-sen's thought.
Because the best commemoration is not empty talk or slogans, but we are truly doing our business in our respective positions.
Back then, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was built by the people of Guangzhou and many Chinese people and overseas Chinese from all over the world.
I think it is now also very necessary for Chinese people all over the world to work together and unite to contribute to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
[Commentary] The event also invited academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering He Jingtang, Meng Jianmin and other experts to give keynote speeches on the theme of architecture.
He Jingtang said that the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is the best testimony of the history of China's democratic revolution and the great achievements of Mr. Sun Yat-sen.
Recording the times with architecture is the glorious historical mission of architects.

So today I chose a topic called "Architectural Records Era Design Makes Cities Better" to talk to you.
An era has important events in an era.
During the democratic revolution, the (revolutionaries) represented by Sun Yat-sen (revolutionaries) overthrew the Manchu Qing government. This is a great era, recorded in the current Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
The past few decades have been reform and opening up.
During the reform and opening-up era, there have been many major events, which can all be recorded through architecture.
[Commentary] It is understood that the school organized students to visit and study at the event site.
Student Zhang from the School of Architecture of Guangdong University of Technology told reporters that through field observations, exhibition introductions and academicians' lectures, he has a better understanding of history and also realized the strong national characteristics of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall as a landmark building in Guangzhou.

The understanding means that the former revolutionary ancestors used their lives to create a good prerequisite for our future.
At the same time, some revolutions and fires of hope were planted to lead generations of revolutionaries to contribute to the future of our country and our nation.
I also understand that it is a new-style building used in Western learning, which can reach the pinnacle of architecture.
[Explanation] According to reports, Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located at the southern foot of Yuexiu Mountain and is an important node on the central axis of Guangzhou's modern city.
During the period from May 1921 to June 1922, Mr. Sun Yat-sen served here as the extraordinary president of the Republic of China.
After the death of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in 1925, the people of Guangzhou built the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall on the site of the Presidential Palace to commemorate this great revolutionary pioneer.
[Explanation] Time flies, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, which has been baptized by wind and rain and tempered by the years, has now become a landmark building and historical business card in Guangzhou. It is a sacred place for the world to cherish the memory of Sun Yat-sen and express their respect for Sun Yat-sen.
The citizen Mr. Chen brought his children to the Zhongshan Memorial Hall and told them softly that this place was built to commemorate Mr. Sun Yat-sen.
