The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has launched the advanced version of the digital authentication service for government and private institutions, with the aim of proving the identity of individuals by using the facial recognition feature.

The authority stated in an introductory video broadcast on its Twitter account that the updated portal allows easy identification of individuals in less than three seconds to support the business community, without the need to use an ID card reader.

And she indicated that the face print service is available to all Emirates ID card holders who have reached 15 years or more, and through the passport number and the unified number instead of reading the data from the card.

She pointed out that the entities and sectors benefiting from the service are government agencies, the banking sector, various business sectors and the medical sector, explaining the mechanism for reading the face print in customer service stations, smart applications and self-service devices, and accessing the service through the passport number, ID number, and the unified QR code number.
