Egypt bans unvaccinated employees from entering their workplace after November 15

The Supreme Committee for the Management of the Corona Virus Crisis in Egypt, headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, announced that non-vaccinated employees will not be allowed to enter their workplaces after next November 15, and that government facilities will not be allowed to enter until after confirming that they have obtained the vaccine starting from next December 1.

The committee decided not to allow, after November 15, the entry of any employee who did not receive the vaccine to his workplace, or he would have to conduct a PCR analysis every week, and it was also decided, starting from next December 1, that no citizen would be allowed to enter any government facility to finish his procedures until after confirmation Obtaining the vaccine, and it was also decided to reopen mosques’ toilets, to facilitate their visitors, while adhering to precautionary measures.

The Minister stressed the keenness to provide the logistics for the circulation of vaccines inside Egypt, to ensure their safety, stressing that the receipt of 5 four-wheel drive vehicles specially equipped to transport vaccines in cooperation with UNICEF, the capacity of one car is 4.2 m3 of vaccines, as these cars will have a vital role in transporting vaccines. To the border and remote governorates, in addition to what was provided through cold chains, which were prepared to receive shipments of the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine, where 5 freezers with a capacity of 2 million doses were added in Helwan warehouses to be ready to receive a shipment of 1.6 million doses.

Dr. Hala Zayed confirmed the expansion of vaccination centers across Egypt, noting that the total doses provided to citizens in Egypt amounted to about 31.7 million doses so far.

The minister confirmed that centers will be provided to vaccinate citizens in large gatherings, such as mosques on Fridays, as well as churches on Sundays, as well as in courts, traffic, real estate, and other facilities that witness the largest number of citizens.

The Minister presented the position of the Ministry of Health’s hospitals’ balances regarding medical supplies to confront the Corona pandemic, stressing also that the Ministry’s hospitals were supported with the necessary equipment to deal with cases infected with the virus, and to provide the required medical care for them, which included the provision of 2,750 oxygen cylinders, and there is an availability of a reserve stock of oxygen of 3.3 million Liters, in addition to 233 ventilators, 761 intensive care beds, 247 defibrillators, 106 electrocardiographs, and other equipment.

The Minister of Health and Population also indicated that 22 governorates have been covered since the launch of the "Together We Reassure" campaign, and 250,245 citizens were registered on the ministry's website to receive the Corona virus vaccine through the campaign, and awareness was provided to more than 280,000 citizens.
