On Thursday, the same militias that fought against each other during the civil war collided again.

30 people were injured and 7 people died on the streets of Beirut.

The unrest was triggered by protests against the investigation into the powerful explosion in Beirut last year.

Large parts of the city were then destroyed and 200 people lost their lives.

Sami Nakad was asleep when bullets from Thursday's fighting outside went through the wall.

- It was not just here but in the whole building.

A large window was smashed in the apartment above, he says.
