The ASEAN-Association of Southeast Asian Nations decided not to invite the top of the Myanmar army, who took control of the coup d'etat, to the summit meeting held later this month. We have issued a repulsive statement.

ASEAN held an urgent foreign ministers' meeting on the 15th and decided not to invite the top of the Myanmar military, Commander Min Aung Hlaing, to the summit meeting from the 26th of this month.

ASEAN is trying to mediate Myanmar's military and pro-democracy forces, but the reason for the decision is that the military remains uncooperative.

In response, the Myanmar military issued a statement on the night of the 16th through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under its control.

In it, the Myanmar military emphasized at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the 15th that it claimed to have provided maximum cooperation to ASEAN in the light of domestic laws and circumstances.

He added, "This decision was made in a non-unanimous manner contrary to the principles of ASEAN, and I am very disappointed and strongly oppose it."

As the situation in Myanmar deepens, ASEAN, which has been negotiating to overcome the situation, has shown a strict stance, and the future focus will be on how the Myanmar military will respond.
