It is mainly in the northern and eastern parts of Norrbotten that most of the snow is expected to fall during the weekend.

According to SMHI, there can be up to 30 centimeters of snow during the Saturday day.

Dozens of accident cases at the rescue service

During the night and the morning, the rescue service has had about ten cases from Umeå and north.

These are mainly exits and motorists who drove into the center railing.

- These are not serious accidents.

Most of the accidents seem to have taken place along the coast, says Bo-Lennart Björklund, internal commander of RC-nord.

"Take it easy in traffic"

Bo-Lennart Björklund estimates that so far it has snowed just over 15 centimeters in the areas around Luleå.

- The snow will thaw away but it is important to take it easy in traffic and make sure to change to winter tires, he says.

During Saturday morning, the weather has affected homeowners in Haparanda, where a number of houses have been damaged by water.

About a hundred of Skellefteå Kraft's customers are also without electricity.

The interruption is due to wet fresh snow together with strong winds.

Intensive inland

At the Norrbotten coast, precipitation will fall as snow or rain on Saturday while the snow continues to fall with high intensity until Sunday morning inland.

In the Gulf of Bothnia and the Northern Quark, it blows northwest or west, 14-17 meters per second, which means that SMHI warns of gale class 1. The wind can affect leisure boats and small commercial vessels.
