Half an hour after the police first came in contact with the perpetrator, they find him on the other side of the river Numedalslågen.

There, the police fire several warning shots.

The arrest is described as relatively undramatic.

According to the police, all the victims, four women and a man aged 50 to 70, were probably killed between the police's first contact with the man until he could be arrested.
