“The Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro received a copy of the request of the competent authorities of Russia for the extradition of Telman Ismailov, with the message that the request itself with the documentation was sent by diplomatic means,” ministry officials said in a comment to RIA Novosti.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia previously notified about sending a request to Montenegro to extradite a businessman in order to bring him to criminal responsibility.

On October 1, the Balkan media reported that Telman Ismailov was detained in the country on a Russian wanted list.

On October 2, the lawyer said that Ismailov was arrested by the Podgorica court, but the defense appealed against his arrest.

The Investigative Committee reported that Ismailov was put on the international wanted list in 2017 "in connection with the establishment of his involvement in the murder of two entrepreneurs."
