Chinanews, October 15th. According to foreign media reports, the lower half of the famous British graffiti artist Banksy's painting "Girl with a Balloon" (Girl with a Balloon) was chopped up and its value remained unchanged. This painting was held in London on the 14th. Sotheby's auction house was auctioned for up to 16 million pounds.

After the lower part was chopped up, the painting has been renamed from "Balloon Girl" to "Love is in the Bin" (Love is in the Bin). This painting was bid for at Sotheby's Modern Art Auction. The price was previously estimated at 4 million to 6 million pounds, and it was finally sold at a record high of 16 million pounds.

"Love in the Trash" is estimated at £400-600.

In October 2018, the original painting was hammered down at the same location for nearly £1.1 million. After the "Balloon Girl" was sold at a high price at the auction, some of the paintings were automatically shredded on the spot, as if through a paper shredder. In general, everyone was quite shocked.

Banksy loves to mock the old-fashioned art world, and his creative style is indulgent. His graffiti began to appear on the streets of Bristol in southwest England in the 1980s.

The actions of this street guerrilla artist are unpredictable, and his "marks" have been left all over the UK and countries around the world.

This shredded painting is one of Banksy's most famous works. In the painting there is a girl with outstretched hands and a balloon in the shape of a love heart.

Blanchike, director of Sotheby's modern art department, said that Banksy "shredded art pieces at the last auction did not cause much damage, but created new works."
