Jair Bolsonaro accused of new crimes

In Brazil, the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into the Management of the Covid-19 Pandemic is preparing to close its work.

The final report will be drafted and adopted in the middle of next week.

We already know that he will hold heavy charges against President Jair Bolsonaro who is accused of having committed a dozen crimes.

This Thursday, another accusation was added to an already very long list: that of having possibly committed a crime against humanity and genocide during the pandemic.

The accusation comes from the highly respected Brazilian Bar Association.

It's on the front page of the weekly

Carta Capital

.

The Bar Association presents documents which show that President Bolsonaro has deliberately banned all federal emergency aid for indigenous peoples hard hit by the pandemic.

He vetoed a bill that provided for the delivery of oxygen to Native American tribes, but also basic hygiene products, clean water and hospital beds.

With this decision, the president violated the Constitution, continues the Bar Association, for whom the government is responsible for the health of indigenous peoples.
