Human rights organizations and British MPs have expressed their solidarity with the Bahraini academic Abdul Jalil Al-Singace, who has been detained in Bahrain for more than 10 years, coinciding with his 100-day hunger strike.

Under the hashtag "Freedom for Al-Singace", the International PEN Organization for the defense of freedom of expression around the world said that it stands in solidarity with Dr. Al-Singace, who spent 100 days on hunger strike in Bahrain to demand the return of his book that was confiscated from him in prison. The organization called on those responsible for his imprisonment to return his book and respect his rights .

The "Reporters Without Borders" organization said that Al-Singace's entry into the 100-day strike to protest the conditions of his detention during the past ten years should raise the concerns of the Bahraini authorities, and the organization renewed its demand for his release without delay.

For his part, Martin Day - the British MP for the Scottish National Party - announced his solidarity with Al-Singace, and called on his country's foreign minister to condemn the imprisonment of the Bahraini academic and demand his release.
