North Korea's nuclear chief representatives from South Korea, the United States, and Japan meet again in Washington for the first time in about a month to discuss the North Korean nuclear issue.



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that Director Roh will visit Washington, the U.S. starting tomorrow (16th) and hold a meeting with U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Sung Kim and Japan's Foreign Ministry Asian and Oceania Affairs Bureau Director Funakoshi Takehiro, as well as the South Korea-U.S., South Korea-Japan, and South Korea-US-Japan chief representatives for North Korean nuclear weapons.



It is known that the talks will be held on the 18th for the senior North Korean nuclear representatives from the ROK and the US, and the talks between South Korea and Japan and South Korea, the US and Japan will be held on the 19th.



It is the first meeting of the chief representatives of North Korea from the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea since September 13-14 in more than a month.



They are expected to share their evaluation of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, including North Korea's successive missile test launches, and discuss ways to resume dialogue with North Korea and the declaration of an end to the Korean War proposed by President Moon Jae-in.



"Director Roh's visit to the US is expected to lead to in-depth discussions on trilateral cooperation measures for the practical progress of complete denuclearization and establishment of permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.



After visiting Moscow, Russia, General Noh Kyu-deok previously discussed ways to resume the peace process on the Korean Peninsula during a meeting with the chief North Korean nuclear representatives in Korea and Russia.



Therefore, it is expected that General Roh will share the contents of the consultation with Russia with the US and Japan during this consultation.
