Monaco lost in his room Gaston-Médecin in extra time against Barcelona (85-81), finalist last season and undefeated this season in the Euroleague, Friday evening during the 4th day of the Euroleague.

Under the eyes of Prince Albert, Monaco stood up to a European cador who lost only in extra time against a Barcelona formation which was very impressive defensively and better than its opponent in the free throw sector (70% at 14/20 for Monaco, against 81.3% at 14/16 for Barcelona).

After a balanced start to the match, the Monegasques finished the first quarter with a bang.

Through Will Thomas (7 consecutive points) and Donta Hall, on a superb pass from Mike James, they inflicted a 9-0 to the Catalans to score at +10 (22-12).

Better in the racket under the impetus of the former Monegasque Brando Davis (top scorer of the meeting with 27 points) and Nikola Mitrovic (14 points), the Barcelonans quickly reacted and gradually glued to the score (32-31, 19th).

But that was without counting on Mike James and his three-point shot at very long distance, which allowed the Roca Team to regain a little lead at the break (35-31).

Back from the locker room, Zvezdan Mitrovic's men again showed a slightly poorer defensive quality.

Opposite, Barcelona have not let go in this area.

And as this formation has sacred three-point shooters, it has passed.

The excellent Davis equalized at three points (48-48 28th), just like Nigel Hayes (51-51, 29th).

Then, Rolands Smits, still three points (52-54, 30th), allowed his team to lead for the first time in the game.

However, the players of Sarunas Jasikevicius did not have a winning game.

James rekindled the light and gave hope to his family (65-64, 37th).

But with Davis and too many free throws missed by his opponent, Barcelona obtained an extension (75-75), during which Barça spoke about his experience.

Monaco will travel, Friday, October 22, to Vitoria (Spain) for the 5th day of the competition.
