With the launch of the Apple Watch Series 7, which offers a whole new series of health-related features like sleep tracking and other general health options, the tech giant is said to be working on adding health features to the AirPods. “(Airpods) too,” Gaurav Sunavani writes for mashable.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently exploring the potential of the AirPod as a health device by adding some health-focused features such as body temperature and hearing aids.

Moreover, the report also mentioned, that these health-focused features may actually take some time before they are released to the market.

The report stated that "these jobs are not expected by next year, and may never be offered to consumers, or the timing may change."

Meanwhile, Apple reportedly teamed up with the University of California, Los Angeles, and pharmaceutical company Biogen to build an algorithm to detect depression and cognitive decline.

While the study is still in its early stages, Apple is also exploring the possibility of including blood pressure, oxygen, sugar, temperature and sleep quality sensors in the upcoming Apple Watch series.

While the tech giants have made huge leaps in the world of modern technology, a recent Bloomberg report indicated that the persistent global shortage of chips has affected Apple, which may lead to a reduction in its production soon.

This actually sent the stock price down, despite Apple's better buying position in the market.
