A woman witnessing the accident then jumped at the man to save the driver from drowning, even before help arrived.

Once out of the water, the victim received heart massage for twenty minutes.

In total, six rescuers took turns to resuscitate him.

An open investigation

Eventually the man was brought back to life and then put on a ventilator.

His condition being considered worrying, the firefighters quickly transported him to the Saint-Brieuc hospital center.

Workers from a nearby shipyard were mobilized to pull the vehicle out of the water.

The gendarmes and the municipal police officers were dispatched to the scene of the accident.

Several people who attended the scene were able to give their testimony.

An investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of the accident.
