A British MP was stabbed several times during a rally in his constituency
British Conservative MP David Amis was stabbed "several times" on Friday while attending a rally in his constituency in southeast England, Sky News and BBC reported.
The police confirmed that their officers were summoned after receiving information about a stabbing attack shortly after the hour, but without mentioning Ames by name.
"A man was arrested after a short period of time, and we are not looking for anyone else," she said.
Both Sky News and the BBC identified the victim as the 69-year-old politician and member of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party.
