At Ebbepark in Linköping is the company that prints solar cells on plastic.

The technology was developed at Linköping University and one of the founders is Olle Inganäs.

He says that silicon solar cells totally dominate the solar cell market today because they have become so cheap.

Prices have fallen by 80 percent in the last ten years, but eventually he hopes that the organic light cells produced in Linköping can take a large part of the market, as it is a material that requires much less energy to manufacture.

The company is growing strongly

The company is called Epishine and today has about 30 employees, but it is expected to continue to employ at least five people each year.

So far, light cells are being made to power appliances using indoor lighting, but the plan is to eventually go outdoors and work with sunlight instead, as the need for solar energy is enormous.
